Some words are not ment for encouragement. Some words are not meant for rebuke. These words are for inspiration. Since you are 18, it is safe to say that you are still in high school, unless you are a child prodigy or have extreme amounts of luck, your work will not be too extraordinary, mayhap some of it will be pretty well done for someone with your talents, but honestly if I saw you current work somewhere I would pass over it. Seeing it in real life has nothing to do with my opinion.
Most words of encouragement are sugar-coated. "Your artwork is awsome! It's really well done!" is good for the ego yes, for everyone wants to hear that they are liked and that their artwork is getting recognized. However this isn't very helpful as it doesn't tell you how to improve. My above comment is to let you know that you are doing alright yes. If it wasn't at least decent I would not have commented and have left this page with a vow never to return. It's to show you that you can improve. Does that help explain why my comment didn't sound like it was meant to encourage?
